Level Up: Scoring My Dream Internship As A College Freshman
It has been around two weeks since my last blog post. I am writing this while we are still workshopping our website. We’ve figured out the logo and what we want. We are still in the process of scheduling interviews for our podcast and setting up meeting times. Our first interview should be dropping soon!
A lot has happened to me in the past two weeks! Every Tuesday and Thursday, I’m at the football stadium to work in our office. Last week, I shot and edited a hype video about the football players at NC State crushing their workouts. It is up on my social media as well as PackFootball’s Instagram if you’re interested.
I’m also building a website that’ll launch after the fall season with all my video work. Perfect portfolio for future gigs.
Big News! I landed that internship with the film company in Charlotte, TA Films! They have a ridiculous studio in Huntersville, North Carolina called Clutch Studios. It is a 20,000-square-foot behemoth of a studio with high-tech green rooms and studios.
My only roadblock is that they need me to get course credit for this summer internship, so I’m emailing various people in the NC State administrative sector for forms. It is an unpaid internship, but as a Freshman in college, I do not need money as badly as I need the experience.
Quick advice before I go: go for better content opportunities over pay. This applies to any field that you are in. Getting top-tier experience early puts you ahead. Money comes and goes. Also, don’t sleep on your advisors! They work for you. You’re college has resources – USE THEM.

Music Corner: This week’s song recommendation: “Snowshoes” by Caamp. Super chill vibe about life’s challenges and connections. Gives Noah Kahan vibes but with unique vocals. It has been on repeat lately.
